Clomid, or clomifene citrate serves a pivotal role in fertility treatments. By creating a pseudo-environment where the body perceives a shortfall of oestrogen, Clomid prompts a surge in the hormones necessary for egg production. This intricate interplay results in the stimulation of the ovaries to release eggs, vital for conception. There are a number of things that you can do to maximise the potential for Clomid use.
At its core, Clomid addresses the challenge of irregular or absent ovulation (anovulation). For those with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) - a condition that often disrupts the regular ovulatory cycle - Clomid often emerges as a ray of hope. By fostering a conducive hormonal environment, Clomid paves the way for more regular and predictable ovulation, enhancing the chances of conception.
Diet can be a game-changer when it comes to fertility. While Clomid works its magic at the hormonal level, certain foods can bolster its success:
Strategically chosen supplements can be the perfect allies to Clomid, addressing nutritional gaps and enhancing its effectiveness:
While Clomid is a potent tool in the fertility arsenal, lifestyle choices can either amplify or diminish its success:
In essence, Clomid, when complemented with the right diet, supplements, and lifestyle choices, can transform fertility challenges into conception successes. It's imperative, however, to liaise closely with a healthcare professional to tailor the right approach for individual needs.

Clomid® (clomiphene citrate)
Clomid® (clomiphene) is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) which is used to treat female infertility by helping to increase the production of folliclestimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). In addition to treating infertility, Clomid can also be used for the treatment of ovulatory dysfunction (insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus) and other conditions.
Clomid® is one of the most commonly prescribed SERMs out there and is available in tablets and capsules. This medicine is taken three times a day. It is taken orally and is usually well within one week of starting treatment. This medicine is taken in the form of a tablet or liquid. It should not be taken more than once in a 24-hour period. This medicine is not expected to have any negative effects on your baby if you are not ovulating regularly.
It is important that you do not take Clomid® if you have had a previous history of ovarian cysts, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (hyperthyroidism), polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis, or ovarian failure. If you have had an ovarian cyst, it is recommended that you consult a doctor before starting Clomid®.
If you are trying to conceive, you may need to wait for at least 3 months before taking Clomid® to get the results you are looking for. In some cases, this could mean that you will not ovulate regularly or will not conceive within a month. It is not known whether Clomid® will help to get pregnant in some cases. You should also speak to your doctor before trying to get pregnant.
If you are having any further side effects you should speak to your doctor or the pharmacist. This includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet. If you do not see any side effects, please tell your doctor or the pharmacist.
Before starting Clomid®This medicine contains an active ingredient known as clomiphene citrate. This is a medication which belongs to a class of drugs called selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs). It works by blocking the effects of estrogen on the hypothalamus and pituitary gland which causes increased production of folliclestimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH).
Clomid® can be taken with or without food. If you take Clomid®, the tablets must be taken at least 30 minutes before food.
Clomid® is not indicated in women with a previous history of ovarian cysts, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (hyperthyroidism), polycystic ovarian syndrome, or endometriosis.
Clomid® is not intended for use by women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Clomid® is contraindicated in women with known hypersensitivity or allergy to clomiphene citrate or any of its ingredients.
Clomid® should not be taken by women who are breastfeeding.
Clomid® may affect the developing baby. You should be carefully monitored for signs and symptoms of breast milk production such as lumps, pain, or nipple discharge. It is important to note that this medicine should not be used by women who are pregnant or breastfeeding without consulting a doctor. Clomid® should not be used during pregnancy.

In a study published Monday in the journal JAMA Internal Medicine, researchers found that women taking Clomid who used a lower dosage of the drug also had higher levels of certain hormones that were significantly associated with weight gain.
The researchers, from Stanford University School of Medicine, compared the effect of the drugs on the weight gain in women taking Clomid. Women taking the drug also had a significantly higher weight gain rate.
The women who took the drug had a significantly higher body weight gain rate, as compared to those who did not take the drug, the researchers found. They were also the only women who were also taking the drug, and in particular, Clomid. The researchers note that their findings were based on a single case series, but that the data was pooled together. The results are preliminary and have been reported elsewhere.
The drug has been on the market for more than a decade and has been associated with significant weight gain, which is a known side effect of Clomid. Women taking the drug also have been prescribed anabolic steroids, which can cause muscle pain and even breast enlargement, the researchers noted.
The study was published in JAMA Internal Medicine.
The study found that women taking the drug also had a higher body weight gain rate, which is significant. The study is part of a large trial that has tested the drug in women who have undergone endometriosis treatment, a treatment for early-stage endometrial cancer. The results are expected to be published in the journal in November.
The researchers found that women taking Clomid also had higher levels of estrogen, which is the primary female sex hormone. The researchers also found that women who took Clomid were also more likely to have high blood sugar, diabetes, and high blood pressure. They also found that women who used Clomid also had higher levels of prolactin, which is a hormone that causes breast tissue to shrink and the breast to be more sensitive to hormones, the researchers noted.
The researchers also found that the women who took Clomid also had a lower rate of acne, acne vulgaris and hair loss, as well as an increase in the number of hair strands that the women who used the drug also had, the researchers found.
The researchers also found that the women who used Clomid had higher levels of insulin, which is a hormone that regulates body fat production. The researchers note that the women who were taking the drug also had lower levels of glucose, which is a hormone that controls blood sugar levels.
